MEDITERANSKA MREŽA MODERNIZMA: ALŽIR

Zagreb, klub Booksa, 1. lipnja 2017. u 20 sati.

Projekt Motel Trogir u 2017. godini podržavaju Ministarstvo kulture RH i Zaklada Kultura nova.

With Natasa Bodrožić and Saša Šimpraga from the Motel Trogir project, which will briefly present segments of the architectural modernist heritage of Algiers with an emphasis on the works of architects Oscar Niemeyer and Fernando Puillon, the guests will be also the historian Tvrtko Jakovina who will give an overview of the historical relations of Algeria and Socialist Yugoslavia (today Croatia), and architect Andrija Mutnjaković, who will talk about (unrealized) projects of the parliament building and the national library of Algeria, which were made by him at the invitation of the Algerian government.

The Motel Trogir project is devoted to the reflection, affirmation, protection and re-evaluation of the architectural heritage of modernism in the second half of the 20th century. In addition to Ivan Vitić’s motel in Trogir after which the project is named, the focus of our activities is modernism in Dalmatia and beyond, as well as the international collaboration with similar initiatives, especially in Mediterranean countries.
